I got a part time work to teach in some ind of high school in Yogyakarta, lately.
If you asked me what kind of school is that, it's totally out of our league. I mean, I grew up in some kind of ordinary SD SMP SMA Negeri before so I totally have no idea if there was a private school like this before.
There's no kind of uniform there. The only uniform that student had is only a polo t-shirt with an coat jacket and batik uniform. The subject that had been teach is also different, they got more English subject in writing, reading, and listening. They also got IELTS subject omg. Soft skill subject is also in the curriculum. And they also applied moving class like overseas high school or collage student. Their curriculum is my favorite things above all.
The interactions between the teachers and the students is also had some kind of different vibes. May be it caused by small number of the students, but I like the way how they interact one and other. Student's attitude also different with ordinary high school, that caused me some kind of shock in the first time we met. May be it was caused by the curriculum that push them to always to be brave to spoke their opinions, and critics, and just that way how they also react in class. They're so active that I should prepare extra energy and patient to face them. But I was amazed that I'm having fun with that.
I've been teaching there before in my collage days, in the part time job like this, so now I had no struggle to fit in. It surprised my self that I enjoy being a teacher, while lately I felt so empty and I didn't actually have an idea what should I do in the future. So I guess, I have an answer now.
